We feel so fortunate to have such an amazing client base and get to grow with so many of you. Your families are very precious to us, and we wanted to take a minute to share one of our little rock star's story's.
We shot Max initially at just 7 mths old. He is now 4 1/2 and is battling brain cancer. We wanted to spread the word and help in any way we can to fight this ugly disease. The below excerpt comes from Max's support page on Facebook:
"...Max Wilford, our four-and-a-half-year-old son, was diagnosed with a brain tumor on August 5th, 2011. He was immediately rushed to the regional children's hospital and operated on the next morning.
The tumor was found to be adhered to the brain stem and was only partially resected. Max is expected to endure at least a year if chemotherapy as he fights the tumor that remains. Max is a bright, beautiful, vivacious kid who,
with the development of special superpowers designed to fight cancer, is now known as SuperMax. In addition to chemo, Max sees various additional therapists --
Chinese medicine, occupational karate, and soon swimming, a holistic chiropractor, and counseling. We will beat this!..."
"...Since this was written, Max was diagnosed with a very uncommon form of a common brain cancer (Anapalastic Pilocytic astrocytoma with spongioblastoma), brain stem at the cranio-cervical junction).
The brain tumor was partially resected and now Max is undergoing a year of chemotherapy, in addition to two appointments per week of OT, PT, and Speech therapies at CHOC Hospital..."
On April 14, 2012 we will be raising money for Max and his family. Between 9:00am and 5:00pm, we will be offering 30 minute 'mini sessions' at our studio in Venice. The cost will be $100 and all proceeds will go directly to Max. The $100 will include a 30 minute studio session, a disc containing the shoot's images printable up to 5x7 (you will have about 30 images), and a 5x7 print sent to you via regular mail. This is a great opportunity to help out an amazing little survivor!!

We ask that little ones be at least 4mths old (newborn shoots would be hard to do within the 30 minute slot!). Headshots, mommy and me shots, friends shoot, sibling love, etc. are all more then welcome.
